To find the physical description of an item (basically, what a book, DVD, CD, or other item looks like) in the MiraCosta Library catalog:

  1. Go to the library catalog.

  2. Search the catalog for the item in which you are interested and click on the title to view the catalog record.

  3. You will now see the item's record. Click on the "Catalog Record" to view more information about the item.

  4. Scroll down until you find the "Physical Description." If the item is a book, it will include at minimum the number of pages and the size of the book in centimeters. If the item is a videorecording or music recording, the physical description will note whether the item is a DVD, CD, or other material. If the item is an electronic book or streaming video, it will make a note of that as well.

For the example "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," you can see that the book is 319 pages long, contains some illustrations, and has a height of 21 cm.
