Technology equipment may be returned in-person at a library circulation desk on either the Oceanside or San Elijo campus during our open hours. Students can also return their equipment at any time to one of our convenient locker locations. Lockers are located on each campus and are available 24/7. To begin a return in our locker system, please complete a request.
The standard loan period for library-owned laptops and hotspots is one semester. However, the library is piloting a loan extension program for the Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 semesters. Eligible students will be contacted with updated loan details once the registration period for the Spring 2025 semester has opened.
If you are not eligible for a loan extension the technology equipment is due promptly at the end of the semester in which they were borrowed. This ensures equal access to this high-demand equipment among all MiraCosta students. It also allows our Information Technology Services team to perform necessary software and security updates between semesters. Failure to return equipment will result in a hold on your account; charges may also be incurred.
