Can community members who are not MiraCosta College students use the computers in the library? 

Yes, community members who are not enrolled students at MiraCosta College may use the library and its facilities. Though MiraCosta College students have priority in using the computers in the Open Lab at the library, community members are encouraged to use the library's computing resources.

Can community members who are not MiraCosta College students use the library databases? 

Community members and non-students are able to use/access MiraCosta's electronic databases, through library computer terminals, while on-site at either the Oceanside or San Elijo campus libraries.  Off-site access to electronic databases is limited to currently enrolled MiraCosta students.  For assistance in use of the electronic resources while on-site please ask a reference librarian for help. 

Can community members who are not MiraCosta College students check out materials from the library?

Community members are welcome to come in and use the library at any time without a college identification card.  However, if a community member would like to check-out library materials, he or she may obtain a community patron ID card for an annual fee of $6.  (Note that the community patron ID does not include access to the library databases from off-campus).
