You can look up your required textbooks by following this link to the MiraCosta College Bookstore:
Once there, on the left-hand side, there is a link that reads "Books." Hover over that link and then click on "Textbooks & Course Materials."
Then you can search by campus, "department", i.e., ART, HISTORY, ENGLISH, etc...
You can also contact the bookstore directly for assistance. Here is the contact information for the bookstore in case you want to talk to one of their representatives:
Oceanside: (760) 795-6630
San Elijo: (760) 634-7831
If you would like to use books at the library, rather than purchasing them, many instructors place the class textbook on RESERVE in the library for student use. Keep in mind that the library does not purchase all textbooks for student use so we do not have all of them and, in most cases, the textbooks must be used in the library.
To find out if your textbook is on reserve in the library, you will first need to know the last name of your instructor, the name of your class, or the textbook title.
Then click on Textbook Search to search for reserve materials that can be used in the library.
There are two types of reserve items, OPEN RESERVES and CLOSED RESERVES
Open reserves indicate that the reserve item is shelved in the library and may be used in the library for up to 2 hours. Open reserve shelves are located near the check-out desk at both the San Elijo and Oceanside campuses. Items are arranged on the shelves by class subject (for example BIOL or ENGL. Ask for assistance at the Circulation/Check-out Desk.)
Closed reserves are located behind the Circulation/Check-out Desk. Closed reserve items must be checked out for use in the library. You must present an MCC ID with the current semester sticker, or a "proof of enrollment" document printed from your SURF account (along with a current picture ID).
