The majority of streaming platforms do not currently support playback of films or movies via screen sharing platforms such as Zoom or Google Classroom. Screen sharing platforms have the capability to recognize copyrighted material, and an algorithm will detect this and mute playback. As a result, even if the Library has a subscription to the film, the playback will be muted, and what students see is a black screen. Note that in most cases, the playback will appear smooth on the instructor's end.

Please talk with a librarian about embedding your films directly into your Canvas course.
