MiraCosta College librarians have created an APA Style Handout which illustrates how to cite many common sources (including journal articles, books, webpages, websites, magazines articles, etc).

If the handout does not answer your question, we have also created an APA Citation webpage that goes into greater depth about APA style.  Scroll down to APA Citation Examples and choose which type of citation you are interesting in seeing.

Some databases will create an APA (or MLA, etc.) citation for you. These citations, when present, are machine-generated and may have one or more mistakes to correct so be sure you are familiar with your citation style in order to proofread it for errors.

For more examples, consult the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th Edition located in the Reference section of the library, or use the free Online Writing Lab at Purdue University APA Style Guide.

You can always get in touch with a MiraCosta librarian for more help with citations!
